Fuguizhu is a tropical plant, which is very afraid of cold wind and low temperature. When the weather gets cold or the temperature changes greatly, its leaves will turn yellow. Therefore, in winter and spring, rich bamboo should be placed in front of the window, pay attention to wind protection, close the window at night, open the window for ventilation when the sun is good during the day, and put a bag when the frost cools down at night.
2. Changing places back and forth will make you yellow.
Fu Guizhu's root system is very unstable. Once the maintenance location is selected, try not to move it again. Every move is equivalent to a new environment, the root system needs to adapt again, and it will be damaged more or less, resulting in yellowing of the leaves.
3. Changing water frequently will turn the leaves yellow.
Hydroponics don't need to change water frequently except in hot days in summer. Changing water is equivalent to changing soil, and the roots need to adapt again. Once you don't adapt well, it will turn yellow. Huahua once raised several rich bamboos, and there was a shallow 2 cm water in the bottle. The water has not been changed all winter, and the leaves are still green. Later, I thought it was too dirty, so I gave it all clean water and the leaves turned yellow the next day.
In this low temperature condition, although we can't change water, we can add some water to it every time there is little water, and it can only be used when it is dry.
4. Iron-deficient yellow leaves
Plants need a lot of trace elements in the growth process, and iron is a very important trace element. Plants such as Fuguizhu, Nostoc flagelliforme, Gardenia, Hydrangea and Rhododendron can't lack iron, which will lead to yellow leaves. How does Fuguizhu "supplement iron"?
We can add a rusty nail to the water, or add a little ferrous sulfate powder to the water, which can improve the yellow leaf phenomenon and make the leaves green.
5, tap water alkali yellow
Fuguizhu likes weak acid environment. Tap water is too alkaline and the water quality is too hard to be directly used for hydroponics, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow after a long time. Tap water should be exposed to the sun for 2 days before use, and it can also be raised with rainwater and river water or fish water, provided that the water does not contain pesticides and fungicides.
