What is the UOS operating system?
If domestic computers can't use Windows system, you can choose UOS operating system compatible with Loongson chip. Although Windows is the largest computer operating system in the world, it doesn't mean that China wouldn't have its own things without Microsoft in the United States.

What is the UOS operating system?

UOS system is an operating system based on Linux kernel developed by concentric software, which supports notebooks, desktops, all-in-one machines, workstations and servers of domestic chip platforms such as Loongson, Tengfei, Zhao Xin, Guang Hai and Kunpeng. UOS system is an operating system based on open source kernel independently developed in China, which can be compatible with most CPU computers with independent instruction sets in China.

Windows system is a pc-side operating system developed by Microsoft based on X86 architecture, and the global home computer operating system has been basically monopolized by the United States. UOS system is based on Linux kernel, which is definitely not as good as Windows system in compatibility and ecology.

With the operating system, you also need terminal products that support the operating system. At present, the computer equipped with Godson 3a5000 chip is the best choice.

A former design friend of mine once gave me a Loongson 3a4000 mainframe. I used it for a while, and the normal office use is not a big problem, but when it comes to professional drawing, cross-platform collaboration and other operations, UOS system is obviously not as stable as Windows system.

My friend bought a full set of Adobe software for work reasons. He runs the software on the Loongson computer, either flashing back or opening the card, and it can't be used normally at all. Later, I tried to install pirated Adobe, which can run, but the delay is serious and I can barely use it.

Godson's 3a series, the latest is 3a5000 with 12nm process. Compared with 3a4000, 3a5000 improves performance by more than 50% and reduces power consumption by more than 30%. Although it is obviously better than the previous generation, it is still many generations worse than Intel's technology.

Some media conducted a running test on Godson 3a5000. In contrast, Intel's i5- 1 135G7 was also used for running tests.

The test results are shown in the following figure:

Godson is weaker than Intel in single-core performance and multi-core performance, but it is close. Most importantly, this i5- 1 135G7 chip is a low-voltage chip on a notebook, which is different from a desktop. For desktop chips, even Intel's i3 standard version processor is stronger than the i5 low-voltage version of the notebook.

This also shows that Loongson's latest 3a5000 chip is not as high as Intel's i3.

However, we must be clear that it has been more than 20 years since the establishment of 200 1 godson. In the past 20 years, the father of Godson, Hu, took a group of graduate students to start research and development from the bottom structure, and gradually established the ecology of Godson CPU and UOS. During this period, Huawei Hisilicon once offered millions of annual salary to Loongson to dig people, but none of the first scientists who developed Loongson wavered.
