According to legend, when Shun Di was on a southern tour, he had a rest in Shaoshanzui, Shaoshan Township today. Seeing this beautiful scenery, they played Shao music one by one, attracted the phoenix to the musical instrument, and the birds sang together, hence the name "Shaoshan".
