In the Qing Dynasty, whether it was a ceremony or a banquet, there was never a scene where men and women met in the palace. Only emperors are men who can hold banquets with women in the palace, and princes, as their sons (except when they are very young), are not allowed to attend. For example, on New Year's Eve, the Qing emperor, empress and concubines held a family dinner together in Gan Qing Palace. The imperial clan banquet (family banquet) between the emperor and the prince and the imperial clan princes was held on the second day after New Year's Day. Concubines who can attend family dinners must also be above their posts.
