Fenhe Erku

Fenhe Erku is an excellent place for barbecue. The open and flat river beach on the north bank seems to be specially prepared for barbecue. Fishing here usually doesn't end empty-handed, and if you're lucky, fish will bite you soon. With the aroma of green grass, the gurgling water, and the delicious food caught by yourself, this completely self-service barbecue is simply unforgettable.

Tips

Fishing: Fishing for flowerheads and white lotus is prohibited in the reservoir, and fishing is prohibited near the sluice. The fishing park on the north shore is open all day, and fish are basically released every Saturday.

Barbecue: Bring your own barbecue tools, and there are also barbecue places around the bridge.

Self-driving route: Exit from the Chaicun Bridge exit on Binhe East Road and head west to Huyan Village. Follow the Erku Tourist Road to the west and turn right when you see the sign for Fenhe Erku.

Warm reminder:

1. Some fishing parks rent fishing rods but do not provide fish food. If you want to fish, it is best to bring your own;

2. If you want to barbecue on the north bank, it is better to turn right onto the river beach as soon as you enter the reservoir. First, you don't have to face the scorching sun. In addition, the slope of the north bank is relatively gentle, making it convenient to set up the oven and place food.

Guobao Reservoir

Guobao Reservoir has beautiful lakes and mountains, and is a good place for camping in autumn. You can find a place to have a barbecue on the embankment near the reservoir, satisfy your cravings with a delicious meal, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains reflecting the water. Set up the grill, prepare meals, and light a fire. After this series of preparations, you can enjoy a barbecue feast with the smoke billowing and the aroma overflowing.

Tips

Fishing: Use a sea pole to catch large crucian carp, carp, silver carp, and bighead carp from a distance. You can also fish close to grass holes, where you are most likely to catch fish. A place for river fish.

Barbecue: Bring your own grill and other tools, just use it in the open space on the shore.

Self-driving route: Take the Taigu exit of Taichang Expressway and follow the Meiyuan Villa sign.

Warm reminder: Barbecuing is not allowed in Meiyuan Villa, but stalls can be set up at the reservoir inlet and under the dam.

Pangzhuang Reservoir

The slopes on both sides of the Pangzhuang Reservoir are steep and rocky. There is almost no place for people to stand. There are many twists and turns. In the middle of the reservoir, there is a large revolving tidal flat where you can camp. Now, the awning and oven are in place. I took out my fishing gear and caught something that made me feel as calm as water. I put my pole back and looked back. The sausage bread that came with me on the oven was already fragrant and waiting.

Tips

Fishing: It is said that there are many kinds of crucian carp, carp, silver carp, grass carp and so on.

Barbecue: This place is relatively remote, so be sure to bring enough barbecue and food tools.

Self-driving route: Take the Taigu exit of Taichang Expressway and go toward Xiaobai Township. You will arrive when you see the reservoir.

Warm reminder: There are lush trees around, so please pay attention to fire prevention.

Caizhuang Reservoir

Caizhuang Reservoir has convenient transportation and the asphalt road extends to the foot of the mountain. It is a relatively classic place for leisure and barbecue. It is absolutely a perfect day to go fishing and barbecue in Caizhuang Reservoir. Breathing the moist, cool air, there is a rare silence around you, and you can hear the sound of big fish splashing in the water in the reservoir. Find a quiet bay to fish, and the fish will catch the bait again and again.

Tips

Fishing: crucian carp, carp, silver carp, bighead carp, etc.

Barbecue: Bring your own grill and other tools, just use it in the open space on the shore.

Self-driving route: Take the Taijiu Expressway, take the Jinzhong exit, take the national highway and then go to Caizhuang. When the roadside says "Yanxi Lake", you will reach the reservoir. The journey takes about an hour.

Warm reminder: The road is relatively easy to walk, but you need to park your car in the resort when you reach the destination.

Machuangou

Machuangou is shallow and narrow, making it a suitable place for families or friends to gather. It has the foot of the mountain on one side and a plain on the other, although there are no green mountains in sight. It's majestic and steep, but you can experience the smell of lawn. You can have barbecues and outings in this area, but you can't fish.

Tips

Fishing: Because this is a shoal, fishing rods are of no use at all. In this season, shrimp baskets are used. It would be feasible to catch some small fry.

Barbecue: Basically you need to bring your own equipment. What we provide you here are patches of woods and grassy beaches. Grillers need to bring all their own tools and food.

Self-driving route: Take Taiyuan Shangdonghuan Expressway north to Xinzhoukou and turn toward Jingle. When you enter the mountain road, turn left at the entrance of the first cave. 200 meters ahead, you will see the river beach on the left.

Warm reminder: It is easy to get here, but it is not easy to actually find this place because of the road signs. Fires are not allowed in the forest here, and you can also choose to barbecue on the river bed under the bank. Remember that garbage must be taken away and fires must be extinguished!

Shuangru Lake

Shuangru Lake Reservoir is a reservoir south of Qicun, Xinzhou, 90 kilometers away from Taiyuan. If you pitch a tent and camp there, you don’t have to worry about water sources. You can also see high mountain platforms and Ming Dynasty temples on both sides of the reservoir. There are many shoals on the south bank of the reservoir, which is a great place for camping and barbecue.

Tips

Fishing: There are carp, silver carp, crucian carp, etc. You can bring your own pole.

Barbecue: Bring your own tools and sufficient ingredients.

Self-driving route: Exit at Duncunkou of Xinzhou Expressway, go west to Qicun, go south to the reservoir.

Warm reminder: The road conditions are very good, and Qicun Hot Spring is very famous.

After the barbecue, a hot spring bath is a good choice.

Yunzhu Lake

The lake is clear and bright, with tall and beautiful peaks lying on the west side of the lake, reflecting in the water. The air here is fresh, the water is sweet, there is very little pollution, the water is clear and the sky is blue, which is very suitable for taking pictures. If you are driving by car, you can drive along the path all the way to the shore, because there are small woods, making it easier to set up stove poles - a perfect place for barbecue and fishing.

Tips

Fishing: Fishing is fun only when the water is clear and the carp growing in a pollution-free environment are not dense. You can bring your own fishing rod. The fee is 30 yuan a day. There is a unique small white fish in the lake, which is very delicious. A fishing festival is held locally every October.

Barbecue: All barbecue utensils must be brought by yourself.

Self-driving route: Take Taichang Expressway, Yushe Exit, toll is 30 yuan, exit the expressway and head west to Heyu direction, turn left onto Yanliang Village Road, and you will reach the scenic area with road signs.

Warm reminder: The water is clear and the sky is blue, which is very suitable for taking pictures. The farmer's fishing boat is very cheap, 30 yuan for 10 people for a trip around the lake.
