How to choose outdoor oil stove and gas stove
Faced with the choice of stoves, many people will be worried, that is, choose an oil stove or a gas stove? Then let's take a look at some of my experience in practical use. Many people value the fuel diversity of oil stoves because they choose oil stoves. However, do we really need an oil stove? My first impression of the oil stove is that it is very troublesome to find the right fuel. First of all, you need to find the right fuel when using the stove. Although many oil stoves are known as universal stoves, alcohol, kerosene and gasoline can be ignited, we still use gasoline the most in actual use, and we need to find the highest grade gasoline as much as possible. The best fuel is actually 120 white gasoline, which is usually used as an organic solvent and only available in petrochemical shops in big cities. And the highest grade gasoline we can easily buy can only be 97 # gasoline. It is difficult to burn 97 # gasoline fully in an oil stove. A black carbon deposit layer will be formed on the bottom of the pot and the stove, which will be wiped everywhere if you are not careful, and it is difficult to take care of it. The second feeling that the oil stove gives me is that the operation is very complicated. The operation of the oil furnace needs the following steps: 1. Assembly and connection; Second, pressurize the oil bottle; Third, ignition preheating; Then after cooking, first, turn the oil bottle upside down; Second, we should use maximum firepower to burn up the residual oil in the oil pipeline; Third, after the residual oil is burned, release the pressure and dismantle the stove. Finally, a lot of paper is needed to wipe off the carbon deposit on the stove and the bottom of the pot, and then wash your hands. Such a complicated operation needs a period of familiarity, especially the preheating part is dangerous, and it needs certain operation skills to avoid being in a hurry. The pressure of the oil bottle needs to be controlled by experience. Excessive pressure will easily lead to gasoline flowing out of the bottle mouth, which will cause danger after being heated and ignited. I used to choose an oil stove because I was forced by the following two helpless situations. Now, none of these difficulties exist. 1, in the past, there were few outdoor shops in China, and gas tanks were not easy to buy. Planes, trains, etc. It is forbidden to carry gas tanks. At present, outdoor shops in China are almost all over the country, and gas tanks can be bought in many cities. Just ask before you go out, or search online and buy a gas tank at your destination first. 2. In the past, the quality of gas tanks was poor, and it was easy to ignite at low temperature or high altitude, and it was difficult to ignite. In winter, or at high altitude, mountain tanks can be used to solve this problem. In this case, mountain tanks are easier to be ignited and burn more fully. In fact, the butane liquid in the gas tank is frozen, which still does not affect the use. Compared with oil stoves, gas stoves generally have the following advantages: 1, generally light weight, the lightest gas stove can be less than100g, and the lightest oil stove needs 300 to 400g. 2, the operation is simple, and the operation of the gas stove is similar to that of the gas stove. Almost everyone can learn without learning. 3. The maintenance is simple. The gas stove needs almost no maintenance. The oil stove usually needs to judge how thick the fuel injection port is according to your fuel. Carbon deposition is easy to cause the fuel injection port to be blocked, so it needs to be dredged with a through needle. So most oil stoves are equipped with maintenance tools. 4. The gas stove is relatively clean, and there is no problem of carbon deposition. When the oil stove is preheated, it will emit black smoke, and after use, it will form a black carbon deposit layer on the bottom of the pot and the surface of the stove. 5. The general working efficiency of gas stove is greater than that of oil stove. Similarly, it takes a short time for a gas stove to boil a liter of water. 6. It is very convenient to operate the gas stove in the tent, which is very important in windy, rainy and winter. It is very dangerous to operate an oil stove in a tent. The flame will be very high when preheating first. And black smoke. Second, if the pressure is too high, it is dangerous for gasoline to come out and stay in the tent. You know, tents burn faster than you think. Since gas stoves have no big advantages, what advantages does oil stoves have? Why are manufacturers still producing oil stoves? In fact, the oil stove is not without advantages. In some special aspects, the position of oil stove is unshakable. The reason is: 1, fuel is relatively easy to obtain. 2. Under the same cooking times, the fuel weight of oil stove is lighter than that of gas stove. Based on these two points, the oil stove is more suitable for long-term hiking in the wild without replenishment for more than a week. After hiking for more than a week, cooking and boiling water require a lot of fuel. Gas tanks not only occupy space, but also the volume of empty tanks will not decrease after combustion, so they need to be transported to crowded places for disposal. This consumes a lot of physical strength for no reason. In this case, the oil stove only needs to carry two or three liters of gasoline. In addition, gasoline can also be used to extinguish distress signals and light bonfires at critical moments.
