Five skills of making delicious food
First, the shooting angle
All foods have different shapes. Don't shoot all the food from the same angle. Find out the angles of different foods and take good photos.
The most traditional angle is horizontal shooting, which is generally the angle of shooting the whole picture of food.
You can capture the three-dimensional sense of food from the side, and you can take photos with a sense of distance between foods by using shallow depth of field.
From above, you can film all the arrangements and create a simple atmosphere.
Second, light.
Try to use natural light. You can choose to shoot by the window. In dark places, you can choose to increase ISO or large aperture. Bright light can make food colorful and delicious. Using flash will make some places dark and some places pale, so it is not recommended! Even if you really want to use a flash, don't hit the flash directly on the food. You should aim the flash at the wall or ceiling with "reflective flash" and project the flash evenly onto the food by using the principle of reflection.
You can use a reflector when necessary, but not everyone has a reflector at home. In fact, just a blank sheet of paper is enough.
Camera settings, a piece of white paper can already increase the overall brightness.
Another thing to pay attention to is shadows. Sometimes the camera will capture its own shadow when it is close, so you should carefully adjust the angle before shooting. Trying to shoot against the light will also make the food very bright and warm!
Third, the layout
Props can be used to highlight the theme. Props can be food, utensils, napkins, plates, dishes, flowers, kitchen utensils and so on. And the author himself likes to use milk as props.
Sometimes props are not always needed, and simple effects can be created by using solid color backlight.
Fourth, close-ups
Sometimes, in addition to filming the whole food, you can also observe the details of the food carefully. At this time, a macro lens or telephoto lens comes in handy!
Fifth, seize the time.
The food just cooked is the most attractive. The first ten minutes of cooking is the prime time for shooting, and the luster of food will decrease with time. Preparing the layout before shooting can shorten the shooting time.
Four points that should be paid attention to when shooting delicious food
1, choose high ISO shooting without flash.
Try not to use the camera flash when the brightness of the shooting environment allows. Even if you want to use a flash, don't hit the light directly on the food. You can shine light upwards, and then use the principle of reflection to project light onto food. Because the light hits it directly, if it is not well controlled, some parts will be overexposed and some parts will be too dark. In addition, the aperture can be enlarged appropriately, and high ISO shooting under large aperture can achieve both virtual and real effects.
2. Pay attention to indoor light
Usually, when you are indoors, the light will be above your head. When shooting, we try not to hide this light and let its light project on the food. In addition, we can also polish the food, so that the food will have a better light and shadow effect. In a word, remember that light is very important in food photography, and it needs more light than landscape photography and documentary photography, because food is very sensitive to light. If the light and shadow are not in place, food will look dirty. Who has an appetite?
3. It is very important to choose the angle of shooting food.
When shooting food, we must know which angle is the most attractive and which position can get the best effect. Every food has different characteristics and needs to be tried by yourself.
4. Coordination of background decoration
Food photography pays great attention to aesthetic feeling. Not only the food itself needs a good appearance, but also a good background decoration is very important. So when shooting food, you can find some other decorations as background decoration, which can highlight the delicious feeling of food.
