First of all, there are two possible situations: A. Install win7 first, and then Win8B. Install win8 first, then win7.
In case A, you will undoubtedly get the boot menu of metro, which has two shortcomings: 1. After booting, the default system is win8. If win7 is selected, it is bound to restart and re-enter win7 2. Once Win 8 crashes, even Win 7 can't enter without system disk boot.
First of all, let's analyze the reasons for this situation. As we all know, the function of quick start is introduced in win8. The official statement is that it will save a lot of time to store some information needed for system startup in a file and call it directly after startup. But the essence of correcting it is actually dormancy. So that's why metro's boot menu appears after the win8 icon, not before, because the default quick boot is on, so you won't read the boot directly after booting, but enter the system first. If you put the startup menu before win8 starts, it will be skipped directly.
After analyzing the reasons, let's talk about the solution: the solution is to restore metro's menu to the normal menu that starts when it is turned on. I personally use BCDautofix v 1.23(BCD). Of course, it can also be repaired with bootsect of win7. It can be repaired under win8, but it turns out that when used under win8, there is a certain chance that there will be a false shutdown phenomenon and the power indicator will not go out. Tap the keyboard and you will return to the login interface. The reason should be caused by the essence of quickly starting this function. So I suggest you fix it with win7. After the automatic repair is completed, you can run msconfig command to enter the boot tab of system configuration and modify the default system and waiting time.
As for the display text of the operating system, you can change it yourself in the win7 optimizer. This requires the netframework3.5 environment. My win8 is installed with 3.5, and no children can run it under win7 and modify the display text of the operating system. I modified windows8 and windows7, and the display is concise, and the up and down order can be adjusted. I installed windows on it.
This is basically completed, then enter win8, press win+X to run the command prompt with administrator authority, enter powercfg -h off instruction, or go to the power option of the control panel to manually turn off the quick start, because only in this way can the real shutdown be realized, and the boot menu will be displayed in front of the win8 icon. Otherwise, you will still go directly to win8 without showing the boot. In fact, it's nothing to turn it off, but it's about 10 second slow, which is about 30 seconds in total. It won't have much impact, but win7 doesn't need to be restarted once. You can go to the control panel to open it or run powercfg -h on if necessary.

In case B, it is relatively easy to solve. Just set win8 as the default startup item, and then shut down win8 system like Case A and start it quickly.
