For breakfast, Cambodians like to enjoy staple food, fruits and various snacks such as porridge, pickles, fried rice, shredded pork, soybean milk and bread in the hotel cafeteria. Rice noodles are also a common choice for local breakfast. They are made of fine rice flour, which tastes smooth and refreshing, and some are light.
Lunch and dinner usually contain more main courses. Group meals in travel agencies are usually eight dishes and one soup. Common dishes are steamed fish, salted shrimp, fried spinach, fried pork slices and so on. Sometimes a buffet is arranged in the evening, and the dishes are more abundant, such as trotters with sauce, grilled fish, barbecue and so on. Although some dishes are light in taste, tourists can choose their own condiments to add flavor.
