Poke means: slice the dish bowl, or stir it in a big bowl.
It originated in Hawaii, pronounced "Poh-Keh", and is called Qi Bo Bowl or Surfing Bowl in China. It is said that it used to be a snack for local fishermen, and later it was often used as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine.
Poke means "slice/block" in Hawaiian. At first, seafood was cut and eaten together. Later, I came to Hawaii and added whole grains to the bottom of Poke, which became pokebowl.
