Qinyang City and Jiyuan City in the north are adjacent to Taihang Mountain; In the east, Zhulong River is the basic dividing line, facing Wenxian across the river; In the west, Jiyuan City is adjacent to Geely District of Luoyang City; The south is bounded by the Yellow River and faces Mengjin County, yanshi city and gongyi city across the river.
In the third year of Huichang (843), Heyang was promoted to Mengzhou, and Heyang, Jiyuan, Wenwen, Surabaya and five counties were subordinate cities, which were classified as Hebei Road. At the beginning of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, it was still Mengzhou, Ling Wen and Jiyuan. In the tenth year of Hongwu (1377), the state was changed to a county, formerly known as Mengxian.

Mengzhou has a history and culture of "one article and one martial art". One article mentioned Han Yu, an outstanding writer, politician and educator. He advocated the ancient prose movement in the middle Tang Dynasty, and was known as the first of the "eight masters in Tang and Song Dynasties", and was also known as "a great writer" and "a hundred generations of literators".
He is an honest official, a moral benchmark for political clarity in China and a cultural symbol of Mengzhou.
"One must" refers to the hero Song Wu in Water Margin. Many well-known stories in Water Margin, such as Song Wufa's match with Mengzhou, the bloody splash of Yuanyang Building, the flying clouds, the cross slope, the Happy Forest and the opening of a shop in Sun Erniang, are all set in Mengzhou.
Based on Mengzhou's long history and rich cultural resources, four major cultures will be built. In order to promote Hanyu culture, Mengzhou plans to build Hanyu Cultural Street, Hanyu Cultural Theme Park, Hanyu Academy and Hanyu Memorial Hall.
