Eggplant originated in India, and was introduced to China very early, where it was widely planted and eaten.
Chaoshan Chaoyang, Huilai and other places also call eggplant "charming", while Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai call it "Russell". Is there any connection between Lisu and Russell? Why do you call it that?
White eggplant is rare in the north, because the closer to the cold place, the darker the color of eggplant.
