The word bungalow is a general term. Houses in Beijing (the old city within the Second Ring Road) are all called "quadrangles", which are large, spacious and bright houses with gray roofs. Most of the old houses are brick-and-tile structures, while the newly-built ones are generally brick-and-wood structures, mostly distributed in Dongcheng District and Xicheng District, with a small amount distributed in the surrounding areas of Beijing.
