Henan opera; Yu Opera;Henan Opera
Henan Opera originated in the Central Plains (Henan), which is one of the five major operas in China and the largest local opera in China. In recent years, Henan Opera has followed Henan Satellite TV, Henan Opera Academy, Taiwan Province Henan Opera Troupe and other performing groups to perform in many countries in the world, such as Australia, Italy, France, Canada, Venezuela, New Zealand, Germany, Britain, the United States, Thailand and Pakistan, and has been praised as "Oriental Aria" and "China Opera" by westerners.
Henan Opera is famous for its sonorous singing, moderate intonation, clear articulation, mellow charm, liveliness, flesh and blood, and being good at expressing the inner feelings of characters. It is widely welcomed by people from all walks of life for its high artistry. Because its music accompaniment takes jujube bangzi as the beat, it was named Henan Bangzi in the early days.
Yuediao
Yuediao is one of the local operas in Henan Province. Mainly popular in Henan, northwest Hubei, southeast Shaanxi, northwest Anhui, southeast Shanxi, south-central Hebei, Beijing and other provinces and cities. The main musical instruments in the early musical tune were the trunk and the four strings, which were later commonly used to remove beards.
In addition to the traditional forms of opera, Yuediao has two branches: Quyi and Puppet. During the drought in Henan 1942, many Yuediao artists (such as Zhang Guilan) went to street stalls to rap, and then returned to the stage to sing Chinese opera after the famine. The Yuediao branch of puppet is very popular in Nanyang area, and some folk professional puppet artists are still very active today.
Quju
Henan Quju is a local opera, also known as Henan Quzi Opera and Gao Tai Opera. Henan Quju is a combination of miscellaneous tunes in Henan drum music and folk songs and dances on stilts. It was first put on the stage in Linru County (now Ruzhou City) in 1926 and developed into a traditional opera. Because the tune is easy to learn, singing with your own voice, performance close to life, spread very quickly.
The singing tone is soft, changeable and brisk, which has obvious characteristics of folk songs. The main accompaniment instruments are Quzixian, Sanxian, Sixian, Banhu, Erhu, Pipa and Zheng. There are more than 200 traditional plays.
Wanbang
Wanbang is a rare traditional local opera in Henan Province, which grows and spreads in Nanyang and its surrounding areas in southwest Henan Province. Early people called it Haw Bangzi, Lao Bangzi, Nanyang Bangzi and so on. Because Nanyang was called "Wan" in ancient times, Nanyang Administrative Office was officially named "Wanbang" on 1956.
Wanbang is a kind of traditional opera in China, which evolved from the integration of local folk songs and folk rap in Nanyang after the introduction of Shaanxi eastern Shaanxi opera (Tongzhou Bangzi) into Nanyang in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. It has a history of more than 300 years. 1998 "Forbidden Monument in Three Hospitals" won the gold medal in the 7th Drama Competition of Henan Province. Wanbang gradually declined. Today, only a state-owned professional troupe in neixiang county is still struggling to inherit this ancient national art fire, which must be rescued and maintained in time.
