Nanxiong, alias Nanxiong, is a county-level city in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, which is directly under the jurisdiction of finance. Located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, at the southern foot of Dayuling, it is adjacent to Jiangxi, bordering Xinfeng County in Jiangxi Province in the east, Dayu County in Jiangxi Province in the north, quannan county in Jiangxi Province in the southeast, Shixing County in the southwest and Renhua County in the northwest. By the end of 20021,Nanxiong had a total area of 2326 18 square kilometers, governed 18 towns (streets) and 236 village (neighborhood) committees. By the end of 20021,the registered population of the city was 490,300. Nanxiong is a famous "hometown of yellow smoke in China".

Nanxiong belonged to Nanyue in the pre-Qin period, Chu in the Warring States period, Nanhai County in the Qin Dynasty and Ye Nan County in the Han Dynasty. In the first year of Guangzhai (684), Huanan and Hengshan townships in Shixing County were designated as Mianchang County, named after Mian and Chang Rivers in China. The county government is located in Xiongzhou today. In the 12th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1807), it was changed to Nanxiong Mansion in Zhili, transferred to Guangdong Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and cut into Changbao County, which was in charge of Shixing County. Since the Republic of China, Nanxiong District has been changed to Nanxiong City, which belongs to Guangdong Province. 1996 17 In June, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved (People's Bank of China approved [1996] No.46) to cancel Nanxiong County and set up Nanxiong City, which belongs to Guangdong Province and is managed by Shaoguan City.
