Wuzhen in Zhejiang is Wuzhen (Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River).
Wuzhen is located at the northern end of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, with Huzhou City in the west and Wujiang District in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province in the north. It is the junction of two provinces and three cities. Wuzhen was originally divided into Wuqin and Hexi Wuzhen, belonging to Wucheng County, Huzhou Prefecture. Hedong is a green town, which belongs to Tongxiang County, Jiaxing Prefecture. After liberation, Wuzhen, west of Shihe River, was placed under Tongxiang County and was called Wuzhen. The whole town governs 13 community neighborhood committees and 18 administrative villages.
Land transportation has a county-level highway Yaozhen line running through the town, which can be connected with provincial Salt Lake Highway, National Highway 320, Highway 3 18 and Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway (Shenjiahu Expressway). Wuzhen is 13km away from Tongxiang city, 27km away from Jiaxing, 45km away from Huzhou and 60km away from Wujiang, 80km away from Hangzhou and Suzhou, and 0/40km away from Shanghai.
Wuzhen, once known as Wu Dun and Qingdun, has a long history of more than 6,000 years. It is one of the 20 golden week forecast scenic spots in China and one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan. Wuzhen is a typical water town in the south of the Yangtze River, known as "land of plenty and land of silk". 199 1 was rated as a famous historical and cultural city in Zhejiang province, and 1999 began to implement the ancient town protection and tourism development project.
