In the 1920s, it was created by Li Deyang, a famous crosstalk master (formerly known as Li Peiting, with an attractive stage name and one of the Eight Virtues of Symphony).
The original comic dialogue "The Name of a Dish" by crosstalk master Li Deyang has 204 dishes. Later, it was deleted or added in the inheritance, and it was divided into "big newspapers" and "tabloids". The edition of broadsheet has no more than 300 dishes.
