In the Dadonghe Grand Canyon in Wulong, Chongqing, there is a suspended iron cable bridge more than 300 meters high across the canyon, which is shocking! What is even more surprising is that this cable-stayed bridge has no piers and no cables. Only four sets of ropes provide horizontal tension, which can bear the passage of more than 40 tons of trucks. The design is unique and exciting. Do you think cattle are not cattle?

Dadong River, with a total length of 12km, is the source of Liang Shi, a tributary of Wujiang River, starting from Changba Town, Wulong, Chongqing in the east and reaching Lecun Village, Nanchuan District in the north. The magical cave Tianhe Grand Canyon has beautiful scenery and quiet environment. The main landscapes include the Golden Valley in Longtiangou, the ground fissure in the first line of Tianlongxia, the third bridge in Tiansheng, the underground river in mysterious caves, the Yaozhan iron cable bridge hanging on the hanging rock pin wall, the 99-bend cliff, the Panshan stone road and so on.

Dadonghe Canyon runs through Changba Town. There are more than 20 bridges on this 10 km canyon channel. Shuangshi Arch Bridge, Liang Shi River Arch Bridge and Jiancun Aqueduct Bridge connect the green hills and people on both sides of the strait, which not only facilitates people's travel, but also becomes the unique scenery of Dadonghe Canyon. Among these numerous bridges, the most distinctive ones are the "waist-tied cable bridge" completed last year and the temporary bridge for the double-track construction of Yuxiang Expressway. Yaozhan Tiesuo Bridge is the only passage built by local villagers during mining in the 1940s. Today we will introduce a temporary bridge built by 202 1 for the double-track construction of Chongqing-Hunan Expressway.

The construction of this temporary bridge comes from the "Shuang Bao Bridge" under construction in Wulong section of Yuxiang Expressway. Located in Changba Town, Wulong District, Chongqing, it has successively passed through Dadonghe Grand Canyon and Xiaohegou Shuanggou. It is the largest double-span arch bridge under construction in the world. This cable-stayed bridge was built to solve the transportation of building materials and personnel of Shuang Bao Bridge, connect Pier 9 and Pier 8, and shorten the construction period of the bridge.

The span of the cable-stayed bridge is 245.52m, and the total width of the bridge deck is 4.3m.. Both sides are supported by four groups of thick steel cables and several groups of dense steel cables at the bottom of the bridge deck, forming horizontal tension, and the maximum bearing capacity can reach 40 to 50 tons. Changba iron cable temporary bridge spans the canyon like a rainbow. No matter which direction you look at it, it's shocking. The name of China infrastructure enthusiasts really lives up to its reputation.

At present, because the iron cable bridge is only a temporary bridge for the construction of Chongqing-Hunan Expressway, no external vehicles are allowed to enter. However, according to the construction personnel, the bridge will be reserved for local tourism and other projects after completion. By then, visitors can not only watch its visual shock in all directions, but also experience the thrill and excitement brought by its driving.
