In Turkey, you first have to figure out the order at the table:
Generally, the first thing is to have soup, and what they call Ekmek, which is similar to bread Eat together. Then it’s time to eat noodles/rice, then vegetables and meat (with a fork and knife). Your next target should be sweets. If you are a guest at his house, they will serve a dessert called Tatlik. That dessert is eaten last. Don’t make a joke out of the reverse order, haha... because I have done this before.
Also, they usually provide fruits, such as apples or oranges. Those fruits are what you eat after eating the vegetables and meat. After eating the fruits, you eat the Tatlik dessert I just mentioned.
As for drinks, in most cases there will be tea or other drinks, such as Fanta. Those you can drink with vegetables and meat, but not with soup at the beginning. Their tea is very strong, so you need to add some sugar (and this is also similar to a table custom).
That’s pretty much the order.
Things to note at the dinner table: It is extremely important to pay attention to your personal hygiene. Don't talk with your mouth full, spit, wipe your nose, etc. When drinking tea or drinks, don't drink too much at once, because the teacups they usually use are very small and thin. Also, they don’t like vegetables with peculiar smell, such as leeks. Therefore, you should also pay attention to not eating such dishes before meeting others and causing a strange smell (actually, I think this should be paid attention to no matter where it is).
That’s all I can think of. If you have anything else to ask, you can ask again.
