Lungai Volcano, the natural wonder of the world

Lungai Volcano is located in northern Tanzania and the southern tip of lake natron. It is one of the volcanoes in the Great Rift Valley in East Africa, with an altitude of 2,878 meters, which means "sacred mountain" in Masai language.

Lungai volcano is the only active volcano erupting carbonate rocks in the world. Sometimes the top of the mountain looks like snow, but it's actually just white volcanic ash left by volcanic eruption.

In the moonlight, the crater of Lungai Volcano shines with eerie light, and dark lava gushes out, which highlights the gray volcano.

The lava from Lungai volcano is different, and it is composed of volcanic ash and carbonate rocks. As soon as lava is injected into the air, it changes color and becomes alkali through chemical action. This alkali can be used for washing and bleaching, and it has a strong burning power.

Lungai volcano had eruption records from 188 to 1967, and there were more than one active center. Recent eruptions are mostly in the northern crater. Today, the volcano is still rumbling, and lava is bubbling in the crater like boiling tar.
