Have you finished reading these three brain-burning books: Ulysses, Memories of the Past and Dream of Red Mansions?

I bought the three of them back like princesses I like, and I haven't finished reading them yet.

To be exact, I only read a short part of the first two books.

Everyone says it's a great book, but I still can't understand it after so long.

It turns out that I claim to deal with culture all day, but I'm so uneducated!

The more immortal the masterpiece, the more I can't stand most of it.

Anyway, I can't say I can't stand it, but under normal circumstances, I can't stand it, and I have to force myself to watch it. But less well-known people can still watch it with relish.

Some friends also said that all kinds of world famous books are full of philosophy, politics, religion, history and popular science, but anyone who wants to use his brain too much will doze off at first sight.

Especially after watching the internet for so many years, I can't stand it anymore.

I like buying books. I'm addicted.

But after the books were bought back, many of them were put in limbo, and some even did not unpack the plastic packaging. So far, they have only seen the cover.

The bookcase was overwhelmed, and the latecomers could only pile the boxes on the ground, which seriously hindered the traffic and almost tripped several times in the middle of the night.

I heard that many people are like this, buying books like a mountain and reading books like diaosi. I don't know if it's true.

The first time I read Ulysses, I started with that widely circulated sentence. 100 people, no 10 people can finish reading Ulysses.

I have bought it for ten years and pretend to read it every year, but I can't read five pages at a time.

I can only say that the first few chapters of Ulysses are so difficult to understand that I can't hold them!

I once made it a rule to watch it after getting up every morning. At that time, my mind was the clearest and I could see something.

But I read my mind and flew away. I've turned over a page ten times, and the content is still very strange ... ten years later, I'm still in the first few chapters.

Fortunately, I remembered the outline of the story and can pretend to have read it.

My teacher once said that the first few chapters of Ulysses are not too difficult to understand, but the whole chapter is difficult to understand, and few people in the world can understand it.

Now that the teacher has said so, I am relieved.

I think such books are used for heated discussion, for decorating bookcases, not for reading.

I used to put this book on my desk. Almost everyone turned two pages when they passed by, and then looked at me with amazing eyes and said a few words to me.

Ulysses, as a masterpiece of stream-of-consciousness novels, is regarded as the first of the top 100 British novels in the 20th century and the greatest novel in the 20th century.

In chronological order, the novel describes the daily experience of the protagonist Bloom wandering in the streets of Dublin within 1 June, 904 16,1day 18 hours.

Joyce used a large number of detailed descriptions and stream of consciousness techniques to construct a staggered space-time and formed a unique style in language.

I have always treated Ulysses with admiration. It is a work that can show literary skill too much.

Millions of words, but only 18 hours of description, I can't imagine what kind of observation and imagination the author needs to write such a unique book.

Besides, there are not many characters in the book, only Bloom, Stephen and Molly are the three protagonists.

Telling the truth, the work of stream of consciousness is to be incomprehensible to laymen, and Joyce's works are almost obscure.

Except Dubliners, because it is a collection of short stories, I gritted my teeth and finished reading it, and all other works were obliterated.

If you want to challenge yourself, recommend his Ulysses and finnigan's Wake, which will be enough for you to toss and turn for a while.

Like Ulysses, Memories of Time Past is not only a pioneer work of stream of consciousness, but also a contemporary work.

I can only say that it's not that the book is bad, but that it's more than 2 million words, which is too long and needs patience.

Besides, the plot is so hypnotic that I feel sleepy after reading a few pages.

I watched it intermittently for more than half a year, but I forgot the front after reading it. It was so divided that I finally gave up.

Memories of Time Past is considered as one of the most important literary works in the 20th century. It is popular all over the world with its excellent spiritual pursuit of description and superb stream of consciousness skills, and has established its position in contemporary world literature.

The book takes the narrator "I" as the main body, takes the narrator's life experience and inner activities as the axis, and integrates what he sees, hears, thinks and feels. In addition to a lot of narration, it also contains a lot of feelings and discussions.

The whole work has no central figure, no complete story, no ups and downs, and runs through the plot clues.

This is really a novel completely different from the traditional novel.

Personally, if you choose between these two books, you'd better read Memories of Time Past, which is at least more in line with your reading habits. Also, the water-like writing is very beautiful and pure.

Alas, I can't stand a dream of red mansions after watching it n times.

There are so many relationships between people that it is not easy for me to remember a poem or a song.

Later, I didn't read it from the beginning, but counted which page to turn to.

Later, after reading Hong Yan's Misreading A Dream of Red Mansions and listening to Jiang Xun's exposition of A Dream of Red Mansions in the Himalayas, I finally got a clearer concept of the context of the characters.

To be fair, A Dream of Red Mansions is a difficult relationship between characters. As long as the relationship between the characters is sorted out, it is still very beautiful.

When I challenged a dream of red mansions for the third time, it finally got better and better. After reading it three times in one breath, Sister Lin saw Baoyu.

Only then did I feel its beauty, and suddenly I had a feeling of seeing each other for a long time.

A Dream of Red Mansions, also known as Stone Story and Jinyuyuan, is the first of the four classical novels in China and is recognized as the pinnacle of China's classical novels.

Known as the encyclopedia of feudal society in China, this novel depicts the beauty and tragedy of human nature with the rise and fall of Jia, Shi, Wang and Xue as the background, the family trivia of Jia as the main line, and the love and marriage stories of Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai as the main line, and reveals the end-time crisis of feudalism.

Cao Xueqin's integration of China's classical culture in A Dream of Red Mansions has reached the level of all rivers running into the sea.

Although A Dream of Red Mansions is only a novel, it contains almost all the essence of China's classical culture: poetry, Qufu, Yuefu, couplets, riddles, stereotyped writing, invitations, eulogy, letters, recipes, bills, prescriptions, divination and astrology ... It is a master of traditional culture.

However, I skipped reading all these poems and songs.

Around the study of reading A Dream of Red Mansions, a famous school-Dream of Red Mansions has been formed.

When a writer's literary skills reach a certain level, his works often penetrate into philosophy.

For example, in A Dream of Red Mansions, its classic famous sayings "False is true, false is everywhere", "Come and go naked, without any worries" and "If you throw a bird into the forest, the ground is white and clean" are all Cao Xueqin's philosophical reflections on life and the world.

Joyce, Proust and Cao Xueqin also raised their perceptual knowledge of society to rational thinking. Ulysses, Memories of Time Past and A Dream of Red Mansions are three novels, not just novels, which is why.

I can't understand some books, probably because of my own experience and environment. If I don't understand them, I will put them aside and read them when I want to.

Many books were taken out and turned over for a few years, and suddenly they began to understand and fell in love.

Reading classics takes some time and energy. In such a fast pace of life, it is almost an extravagant hope to let people read good books quietly.

The point is that once you read these famous books, it will be a lifelong enjoyment.
