Most people misread the pronunciation of the word "bridge" in Dongqiao as "qiáo". The word "ba" has two pronunciations: one is qiáo, which means "the mountain is very high." The second is the sound of "Ji 'ao", which is interpreted as a mountain road. In Xinghua dialect, the word "ba" is pronounced as a syllable in our local dialect, that is, jiào;; ; If the word "ba" is pronounced flat in the local dialect, that is, qiáo, it is obvious that the former shall prevail.
