Panxi restaurant
Panxi Restaurant was originally a small restaurant in 1947. Sure, there are five streams near the restaurant. The nearer one is called Panxi, so it is named Panxi. After renovation and expansion, Panxi Restaurant became the largest garden restaurant in China in the late 1960s. Most Panxi restaurants are in Liwan Lake Park. The layout of the restaurant is distinct, with a small rockery and a lake. The layout of the tea pavilion on the lake is clear. There are three garden restaurants in Guangzhou, and each restaurant gives diners more than just delicious food. They are Panxi Restaurant, Beiyuan Restaurant and Nanyuan Restaurant, all created by Mr. Mo, the master architect of Lingnan. They are all characterized by the courtyard style of Lingnan gardens, with water diversion and landscaping, carved columns and jade, pavilions, plantains and flowers, and golden crucian carp playing in the water, which is full of interest.
1, Panxi restaurant
Panxi Restaurant was formerly the hometown of the South Han Royal Garden. 1947, Li Wenlun, a Guangdong native, founded a small restaurant with a local flavor here, because there is a stream called Panxi nearby, named after Panxi. 1960, Panxi underwent a large-scale transformation with the urban construction, becoming the largest garden-style restaurant in China.
The dining room covers an area of 12000 square meters, with about 40 halls and nearly 2000 seats. When visiting Liwan Lake, there is the most beautiful scenery outside the window. Loutai courtyard, waterfront promenade, gallery boat, century-old banyan tree and rockery waterfall highlight the majestic atmosphere of Lingnan architecture and are known as "symphonic poems of oriental architectural art".
Traditional dishes: Panxi has the best team of dim sum chefs, and the dim sum banquet in the restaurant is well known. The most famous are eight famous spots: jiaozi, a white rabbit, raw Sydney fruit, quail thousand-layer crisp, honeycomb yolk horn, Pantang water chestnut cake, fried soup packets, crystal clear prawns and delicious apple leaf horn. Other dishes include Jinlong skinned suckling pig, sweet potato cup, Buddha jumping wall, crock fish, peony fresh shrimp and so on.
Panxi Hotel is adjacent to Li Wanyong and Shouxin Street. After dinner, you can also stroll and shop along the river bank.

2. Beiyuan Hotel
Beiyuan Restaurant was founded in 1928 and redesigned in 1958, becoming the first typical Lingnan garden restaurant in Guangzhou. The whole courtyard moves for a change of scenery, gorgeous and elegant, with koi fish fish pond, rugged mountain bridge, winding cloisters and exotic flowers and plants, which makes people relaxed and happy.
The biggest feature of Beiyuan restaurant is the "full window" etched from the brown glass collected from the people, the carved mahogany screen, the handrail on the edge stairs and other decorations. These "live" antique Lingnan elements have become the biggest highlight of restaurant architecture.
Traditional dishes: signature carved chicken, lemon fried soft duck breast, Taishi stewed snake soup, splendid white gourd cup, red drunken shrimp, Guangzhou Shiji, stewed bamboo fungus with cloud leg flower, etc.
Compared with Panxi's exquisite refreshments, Beiyuan is more famous for its dishes. Liu Haisu, an artist, once put forward four characters of "its taste is endless", so in the early years, there was a saying that "rice eats Beiyuan and tea drinks Panxi".

The youngest of the three restaurants was established in 1963, next to Xiaogang Park in Haizhu District, covering an area of 10000 square meters. Blue bricks and tiles, cornices, gold-plated buildings, stone fish ponds, bamboo forests, birds and flowers, and many modern elements such as glass roofs and mosaic brick walls have also been added, so the South Garden of the three major breweries is a splendid and fashionable restaurant in traditional China.
Traditional dishes: featuring Chaozhou cuisine, there are Buddha Leaping Wall, Chaozhou Sauced Chicken, Chaozhou Roasted Goose, Chaozhou Roasted Wing, Golden Suckling Pig, Braised Pigeon, Fried Shrimp with Coconut Juice, Cocoa Milk Cake, Crispy Lotus Bread, Barbecued Pork and Glutinous Rice Chicken. Panxi Hotel is good, and Liwan Lake Park.
Panxi Hotel is the first of the three garden hotels.
The second one is Nanyuan Hotel.
The third one is Beiyuan restaurant.
It is easy to argue about what is the biggest, because different people have different opinions.
I think there are two most representative garden restaurants in Guangzhou: Luming Literature Restaurant and Panxi Restaurant.
Luming Literature Restaurant, located at the foot of the lake, has always been a local favorite for weekend dining. It is a garden restaurant with beautiful scenery and standard lakes and mountains. In addition to retaining the authentic Cantonese flavor and exquisite refreshments, Guangzhou people all know that Luming Literature's "street chicken" still maintains a certain level. It's just that outsiders don't know much, so the reputation of Luming Literature restaurants looks worse than Panxi.
Panxi restaurant is one of the few surviving restaurants in the old brand. This was a famous garden restaurant 30 years ago. Panxi is located in Xiguan, next to Liwan Lake and Litchi Bay. Its classical garden architectural style has been preserved to this day and is deeply loved and pondered by Hong Kong and Macao compatriots. "Garden Chicken" in Panxi
Once upon a time, together with Qingping Chicken and Shishi Chicken, it was called the three largest white-cut chickens in Guangzhou.
Garden restaurants in Guangzhou have stories, and their history will not disappear with the years.
Panxi Hotel is not only the largest garden hotel in Guangzhou, but also the largest garden hotel in China in Luo Kun era.
I just went there last month, and now Panxi exists in name only.
Of course, Banxi Restaurant has the largest garden and a lake. But if it is beautiful, I think the landscape of Nanyuan is the most beautiful! Beiyuan should be the smallest of the three major gardens in China, but it is also exquisite. You can go for a walk when you are free!
It used to be Nanyuan, but now it is Changlong Hotel.
Another place is Mi Bao Garden in Fangcun near Wong Tai Sin. It is worth going there to experience the characteristics of the garden restaurant.
