In the fourth year of Tang Wude (62 1), Du was defeated by Li Zitong in the Tang Dynasty. On the seventh day, Li Zitong surrendered and Jiangnan region entered the territory of the Tang Dynasty. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the territory of Linhai County was designated as Taizhou, and the founding general Weichi Gong was located in Taizhou to expand the city wall. One night, Weichi Gong fell asleep in distress. In his dream, he saw a sika deer repeatedly jumping on his bed and pushing his body with its hoof. When he was upset, he woke up to find the dawn coming. There was a heavy snow at night, and there was a striking deer hoofprint on the snow. Following the deer's track, I found that it just circled a big circle. Weichi Gong was pleasantly surprised. He ordered people to build a city in the footsteps of deer, and the project was very smooth, so Taizhou Fucheng was also called Lucheng.

With the progress of the project, villagers in Taizhou saw soldiers and migrant workers working hard to build a city in the snow and ice, and every household donated food, dining tables and so on to comfort them. In order to save trouble, on the 14th day of the first month, Weichi Gong adopted an old man's suggestion, grinding rice into powder, cooking it with wine, and adding bamboo shoots, meat and vegetables. Then stir it into a paste, which is delicious, fragrant and warm. Soldiers and migrant workers who built the city drank bad soup and got hot, so they worked harder and built the city much faster. To commemorate this event, Taizhou people changed the Lantern Festival to the 14th day of the first month one day earlier, and it became a custom for every household to cook rotten soup.

Ninghai County has been under Taizhou (Linhai County) for a long time since it was founded in the first year of Jin Taikang (280), and 1958 belonged to Ningbo Special Zone and Xiangshan County. In the first year of Shenlong in the Tang Dynasty (705), it was divided into Ninghai County and Jixian County in Yuezhou, which belonged to Taizhou when it was founded, and changed to Mingzhou in the second year of Guangde (764) [so Yuanxiao is the area on the 14th day of the first month, and Taizhou is the area in the early Tang Dynasty.
