There is an obvious historical common sense error in Lu Xun's Diary of a Madman. Why didn't anyone mention it?
Lu Xun said in the novel Diary of a Madman: "Yi Ya steamed my son and gave it to my son."

We know that in historical records, Yiya steamed her son and gave it to Qi Huangong, not to Dou E.. Obviously, what the madman said is wrong. However, since Lu Xun wrote this famous article, no one has ever thought it was a mistake. Experts and scholars have made various analyses of Diary of a Madman, and no one thinks it is a historical mistake. What the hell is going on here?

(Yiya)

Let's talk about Yiya steaming her son for Qi Huangong.

Yiya herself is a chef in Qi Huangong. This chef is very famous. He can cook all kinds of dishes. There are many kinds of famous dishes now, which are said to have been handed down from Yi Ya.

Yiya's greatest contribution to food culture is not the invention of recipes, but his seasoning ability. The condiments in ancient times were very limited, and there was no such thing as monosodium glutamate. Yiya can congratulate all kinds of ingredients and adjust the taste to the best through her repeated practice. The word "fresh" we are seeing now is said to be a good dish made by Yiya by hiding mutton in the belly of fish.

Due to its outstanding contribution to food culture, Yiya is known as the originator of chefs in history.

Qi Huangong also has good chefs like Yi Ya, so its taste is getting hotter and hotter. On one occasion, he even lamented that he had eaten everything, but unfortunately he had never tasted what human flesh was like.

As a result, the next day, Yiya brought him a small pot of broth and let him drink it. Qi Huangong thought the broth was delicious, so he asked what Yiya was made of. Yi Ya immediately knelt on the ground and told Qi Huangong in tears that it was made of the meat of his 4-year-old son. Qi Huangong was very moved at that time, thinking that Yiya was too good to herself, and killed her son to make soup for him.

(Qi Huangong)

So, when Guan Zhong was old and Qi Huangong wanted to find another successor, he asked Guan Zhong, Can't Yi Ya be his successor?

Seeing this, some people may say, this is outrageous, how can a chef be prime minister! Actually, it's not crazy. Because in fact, in ancient times, the prime minister was the vassal of the king and gave it to the king. The word "slaughter" originally meant to divide the meat. In other words, after the chef cooks the meat, it is distributed by the Prime Minister. Obviously, the Prime Minister and the chef are doing the same thing.

Of course, this matter was stopped by Guan Zhong. Guan Zhong thinks that how can he love the king if he doesn't even love Yiya, his own son? After Guan Zhong's death, Qi Huangong kicked him out of the court, saying that he would never see him again. But less than three years later, Qi Huangong really couldn't stand the dishes cooked by other court chefs, and felt that eating their dishes was like a "fading bird" in his mouth. So I called Yiya back and asked him to manage court affairs in addition to cooking.

A year later, Qi Huangong was seriously ill. Three treacherous court officials, including Yiya, were busy supporting Qi Huangong's sons to seize the throne, and no one paid any attention to Qi Huangong. Qi Huangong starved to death, too.

This is real history. Then, why did Lu Xun write "Yi Ya steamed his son for him to eat"?

This sentence, contrary to historical facts, is that Yiya steamed his son for Qi Huangong, not for Xiezhou. After Lu Xun borrowed Madman here, he said such a crazy thing, apparently to say that this Qi Huangong is actually a person with the same personality.

(Guan Zhong and Qi Huangong)

Well, obviously, Qi Huangong is one of the "Five Overlords in the Spring and Autumn Period", a generation of heroes and even a generation of "sages". Why did Lu Xun say that he was an unruly figure?

Let's go back and bargain.

When Qi Huangong said he wanted to eat human flesh, he actually had the heart of a jackal. He said he had a heart of jackals, but in fact he still spoke highly of him. Because animals like jackals rarely eat the same kind. This has become a gene that can evolve in nature. And Qi Huangong wants to eat the same kind of meat, so he is not even as good as a jackal.

When Yi Ya steamed his son for him to eat, after he knew the truth, he didn't denounce the beast who killed his child, but felt that Yi Ya was loyal to him. Although Guan Zhong reminded me, it is impossible for a person who doesn't even love his own son to love the king. But he didn't agree. Thus, Qi Huangong is actually with Yiya.

Finally, his sons ignored him and waited for him to starve to death. From this perspective, we can also see what kind of emotion they have between their father and son.

Later, although he kicked Yi Ya out. However, because of his appetite, Yi Ya was called back and let him participate in the affairs of the palace, which eventually led to tragedy.

From the above analysis, we can see what is the difference between Qi Huangong's thought and behavior and Jie? Not only is there no difference, but it is worse, because he is still wearing the coat of "sage". When Lu Xun was writing Diary of a Madman, it was he who tore off his coat and made his unruly image appear directly in front of the public.

So there is nothing wrong with Lu Xun's writing, and of course no one will correct him.
