In Minecraft, squid is the first lake & ocean creature type to be added to the game. one of them. They look scary but are actually very docile animals. However, it cannot be used as food because squid does not drop food. Let’s take a look at the introduction of Minecraft 0.14.0 Squid.
Squids spawn in water between sea level and level 64, and can be found in any biome.
Pocket Edition
In Pocket Edition, squid only spawn in ocean biomes. There is also a chance to spawn baby squids.
Drops
When a squid is killed, it will drop 1-3 ink sacs. If the squid is killed by a player or a tamed wolf, it will also drop 1-3 experience points.
Behavior
Squids will always passively move towards the player, similar to other passive mobs.
As squid move, their tentacles open and close to show that they are propelling them forward. When first spawned, the squid will wander aimlessly through the water, swimming up and down each level. They are not attracted to light sources and do not intentionally interact with the player.
Squid can suffocate if left on land for too long. When they are on land, they do not move and do not remain still until suffocated. Like other creatures, they can take fall damage, however, since they are aquatic, they cannot fall.
Squids cannot swim in lava, even if they are given a fire resistance potion. They behave similarly through magma fields as they would on land.
Squids cannot be pushed by currents like terrestrial creatures and can swim against the current.
Guardians
Guardians will attack squids as if they were players, regardless of whether the squid has invisibility or not.
Pocket Edition
In the Portable Edition, if the squid is attacked by the player, the squid will emit a cloud of black particles and run away quickly.

Did you know
Squid is the first aquatic creature in the game.
Attacking squid underwater will cause them to rise approximately 1/3 to 1/2 block high.
Squids will not be harmed by attacking their tentacles.
Before Bete 1.4, if the squid was not adjacent to other blocks, you could get milk by right-clicking on it with a bucket.
Prior to Beta 1.9, squid could not spawn in the Nether without cheating because there was no water in the Nether. In Beta 1.9 pre-release 4, they can spawn in water formed by melted ice in the Nether, and will spawn frequently because there is no other place in the Nether where squid can spawn.
