Pearl turtle, although a water turtle, likes to live in water, but compared with deep-water turtles such as musk deer and razor turtle, it can adapt to relatively shallow water level and belongs to shallow water turtle. When raising pearl turtle artificially, it is best to determine the water level according to their posture.
Generally speaking, young pearl turtle needs to live in shallow water, and breeders need to keep the water level consistent with the added height. As their size grows, the breeding water level should be raised. When they are adults, the water level can be controlled at 2 to 3 times the height of the carapace, but the maximum can not exceed 3 times.
