Nantong, Jiangsu belongs to the Central Jiangsu region.
Nantong City, referred to as "Tong", the ancient name of Tongzhou, also known as Jinghai, Chongzhou, Zilang, prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, the center of the Yangtze River Delta. Nantong does not belong to the south or north of Jiangsu, Nantong belongs to the central region. Nantong is located on the east coast of the Yangtze River estuary, south of the Yellow Sea. Climatic Characteristics of Nantong
Nantong is located in the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, with a pronounced oceanic climate, an average annual temperature of 16.5 degrees, and an annual precipitation of about 1,040 millimeters. The climate is mild, with four distinct seasons and relatively short spring and fall.
Nantong belongs to the north subtropical humid climate zone, the monsoon influence is obvious, the four seasons are clear, the climate is mild, the light is sufficient, the rainfall is abundant, the frost-free period is long. Because it is located in the mid-latitude zone, land and sea phase transition zone, common meteorological disasters are floods, drought, rain, typhoons, rainstorms, cold wave, high temperature, wind, lightning, hail and so on, it is a typical meteorological disaster area.
According to the statistics of the last 20 years, the average annual temperature is around 16.5℃, the average annual sunshine hours of 2000 to 2200 hours, the average annual precipitation of 1000 to 1100 millimeters, and rain and heat in the same season, the summer rainfall accounted for about 40 to 50% of the annual rainfall. The average number of rainy days in a year is about 120, and there is often a period of Meiyu in June to July.
