Family? (Eellidae) Eellidae? The naked-breasted eel is a kind of naked-breasted fish.
The picture below shows naked-breasted eel, commonly known as money eel, potato eel and tiger eel.
Most species are nocturnal fish, hiding in coral reef caves or rocks during the day, with only their heads exposed and their tails curled up in caves. When they breathe with their mouths open, they show their sharp teeth, while a few species, such as tube-nosed rays, live in sandy waters. They are carnivores, and most of them go out to hunt other fish at night. Their teeth are curved like blades, and their bodies are twisted like snakes. Once bitten, it is difficult for their prey to escape. Some species feed on benthos or crustaceans. Because of the thick skin and mucus protection, they can shuttle between coral reefs and rock joints without injury.
Usually the typical length is 1.5m, and the longest is 3m. Distributed in the Pacific Northwest, from South China Sea in China to Ryukyu Islands in Japan, with a body length of 60 cm. It is a benthic fish, and it eats meat.
