Cultivation methods and conditions of Angelica dahuricae

Cultivation methods and conditions of Angelica dahurica:

1. Land selection and preparation?

Dahurian angelica should be cultivated on flat land. Deep, loose and fertile sandy loam is preferred. The previous crops are generally rice, corn, sorghum, cotton, etc. After the previous crop is harvested, apply decomposed compost or 3,000-5,000 kilograms of manure, 100 kilograms of cake fertilizer, and 50 kilograms of phosphate fertilizer per acre as base fertilizer. Then plow the soil to a depth of about 25-30 cm, level and rake it finely, and make a sorghum border. Generally, the border is 1.2-1.5 meters wide and 12-20 centimeters high. Sichuan production areas generally do not make borders.

2 Planting methods?

1. Cultivate seeds. Angelica dahurica is propagated by seeds. Individual seedlings can be selected for transplantation and seeding or seeding can be left in situ. The former method is mostly used in production, usually when harvesting Angelica dahurica. In Sichuan, white-stemmed Angelica dahuricae with unbranched, healthy and disease-free main roots was selected for seeding. In Henan and Hebei, choose Angelica dahurica with long and slender roots, small reed heads, no fibrous roots, thin skin and white color, and strong white peony as seeds. Cut off the leaves before transplanting and plant with a spacing of 50-70 cm between rows. Weeding and fertilizing are carried out in winter and the following spring. The seeds gradually mature from June to July. When the peel turns yellow-green (yellow-white in Henan), they are harvested together with the fruit sequence. They can be harvested in batches, then placed in a ventilated and dry place, dried and threshed, and impurities are removed for later use. ?

2. Sowing There are two sowing dates: autumn sowing and spring sowing, with autumn sowing being the best. Autumn sowing is done before and after Bailu in Henan, between summer heat and Bailu in Hebei, between Bailu and autumnal equinox in Sichuan, and 10 days before cold dew in Zhejiang. In areas with higher temperatures, it is better to plant seeds from the autumnal equinox to the cold dew. If sowing is too early, the Angelica dahurica plants will grow too vigorously that year. In the second year, some plants will bolt and bloom in advance, and the roots will become lignified and cannot be used for medicinal purposes. Sowing too late will result in less precipitation and lower temperatures in winter, making it difficult to germinate after sowing and affecting growth.

3. Sowing method: drill sowing or hole sowing can be used. Drill sowing is used in Zhejiang, Henan, and Hebei, with row spacing of 13-20-27 cm, furrowing of 1-1.5 cm, and 1-1.5 kg of seeds per acre. After sowing, level the border and water to keep the soil moist. Sichuan mostly uses hole sowing, with row spacing of 30-33 cm, hole spacing of 23-27 cm, and the bottom of the holes should be flat. The seeding rate per acre is 0.5-0.8 kg. After sowing, do not cover the soil with soil, then apply dilute human and animal manure water, about 1,000 kilograms per acre, and then cover it with plant ash mixed with human and animal manure water to prevent the seeds from being exposed. Then press it down with a wooden board or lightly step on it to make the seeds and soil closely connected to facilitate germination. Seedlings can emerge in 15-20 days. ?

3 Field management?

1. Thinning seedlings can be done 1-2 times when the plant height is 4-7 cm after emergence. Leave 5-8 seedlings for hole sowing, and leave 1 seedling every 7-10 cm for drill sowing. Plant the seedlings at a spacing of 10-12 cm. When thinning out seedlings, leave strong seedlings with purple petioles or flattened plant bases in a triangular or plum-shaped shape to facilitate ventilation and light transmission. ?

2. Loose soil and weeding combined with thinning. Weeding in the seedling stage should be carried out by hand or shallow hoeing. Later, cultivating and weeding can be carried out to make the soil in the field loose and free of weeds to facilitate growth. ?

3. Fertilization: Generally, top dressing is done 3-4 times. The first and second times are carried out after thinning and cultivating. Apply 1,500-2,000 kilograms of dilute human and animal manure per acre each time. The third time is carried out after the seedlings are established. Apply 2000-3000 kilograms of human and animal manure per acre and add 3 kilograms of urea. The fourth top dressing is carried out before and after Qingming Festival. Apply 2,000-3,000 kilograms of human and animal manure per acre, spread 150 kilograms of plant ash, and build up the soil after application. In Zhejiang, the first time is after thinning in March, the second time after weeding in April, and the third time before the beginning of summer. Fertilizer is generally applied in winter. Fertilizer should be applied sparingly in the current year to prevent excessive growth and early bolting. In the second year, it should be more fertilized, supplemented by phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote strong roots. ?

4. Drainage and irrigation. After the Angelica dahurica is sown, the soil becomes dry. Water should be irrigated in time to keep the soil moist to facilitate the emergence of seedlings. During the growing period, if the weather is dry, water should be watered in time to ensure the growth of the plants. When there is too much rain or water accumulates in the field, water should be drained in time to prevent disease or root rot
