Asclepias, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. Alias: longan root, Zhou Ma, hole tooth root, for the buttercup family, the Asclepiadaceae plant big three-leaf Asclepiad, Xing'an Asclepiad or Asclepiad's rhizome. Perennial herb, 1 ~ 2 m high, rhizome is irregular tuberous, multi-branched, nodular, with hole-like stem scars, black-brown surface, fibrous roots are many and fine. Stem erect, sparsely pilose. Leaves alternate, basal and lower stem leaves are bi- to ternate-pinnate; leaflets long ovate or lanceolate, margins coarsely serrate, leaf surface green, leaf back gray-green, both surfaces pubescent. Flowers small, yellowish-white, arranged in panicles up to 112.5px long, born at the top of branches; sepals 5 pieces, with hairy edges; staminodes 2, apex 2-lobed; developing stamens numerous; fruit in September, fruit densely pubescent, oblong and slightly flattened, preferably dug in fall, remove sediment, sun until the roots are dry, prairie or remove the roots, and dry in the sun for spare. Born in grassy mountain slopes, forest edges, mountain roadsides, and bushes. Mainly produced in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Qinghai and other provinces also produced.

Octane, sweet, slightly cold.
Attributes to the lung, spleen, large intestine and stomach meridians.
Effects
Publishing and transmitting rashes, clearing heat and removing toxins, and raising the Yang.

Epidemics and plagues, headache, chills and fever, sore throat, mouth sores, impermeable rashes; sinking of the middle chi, prolonged diarrhea and diarrhea, prolonged prolonged diarrhea, prolapse of the anus, women's disintegration, bandages, uterine drop; carbuncles, swellings and poisons.
Use and Dosage
Internally: decoction, for Yang-raising, 3-6g, preferably honey-roasted, wine-fried; for clearing heat and detoxification, up to 15g, preferably raw; or into pills, bulk. Externally: appropriate amount, powder, or decoction of gargle or drench.
Note
Do not use if the spleen and stomach are cold.
