Myrica rubra in Yuyao
Yuyao has a long history of planting bayberry. According to the research of Hemudu site in China, the original species of Myrica rubra existed as early as 7,000 years ago, and the history of artificial cultivation was more than 2,000 years, so it won the reputation of "Yuyao Myrica rubra is the best in the world".
1995, Yuyao was named "the hometown of Myrica rubra in China" by the Central Ministry of Agriculture. In 2004, it was named "the origin of Myrica rubra", which is the main producing area of Myrica rubra in China.
