The most brilliant page of Tang Dynasty in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression was the Battle of Taierzhuang. The 20th army of Tangbu fought from the rear of the Rocky Valley Division under the lure of Sun Lianzhong. Pass, and a group of elite, peak sexually cut off the Japanese retreat, only to kill the Japanese turned around and ran to yi county. The cut-off Japanese army resisted according to the village and was set on fire by the soup department to roast mice in the east, which made people panic. (It is also said that it was not Tang Fang's fire, but that during the Warring States period, the Japanese army followed the example of the Soviet Union and committed collective suicide when exhausted. ) Wuhan people cheered that Commander Li Zongren would drive the devils into the sea for the first time, which greatly boosted national morale.
Robert capa, a famous journalist, happened to be at the front of Xuzhou. Through his works, the reputation of "Taierzhuang" spread all over the world, and the countless tanks abandoned by the Japanese army in the photos recorded the heroic achievements of the people of China.
In Taierzhuang, Tang also began to be questioned by public opinion for the first time, thinking that he was martyred from the ruins by the defending king of tengxian, and that he was not active enough to attack behind the Japanese army.
Some military historians have also said that he once "measured military maps inch by inch with a ruler" to observe Tang Bu's whereabouts. The conclusion is that Tang didn't do anything negative at that time, but did his best.
In my personal opinion, Tang Jun's situation at this stage should be analyzed from two angles.
The first is whether Tang deliberately delayed the siege of Taierzhuang by attacking the rear of Iwatani Division.
Tang was criticized here because Loki Valley once put only one brigade in front of Tang, but Li Zongren repeatedly urged Tang not to attack as soon as possible at the request of Li Zongren.
Personally, Tang made the right decision, even if he postponed it.
First of all, let's take a look at how the Japanese army put a brigade to stop 100,000 Tang Jun. Some people think that Tang is afraid of the enemy like a tiger and dare not attack. This may be his view that he does not understand the operational characteristics of the Japanese army. In fact, the Japanese army took a brigade as a typical complete combat unit in the battle. Putting a brigade in front of Tang didn't expect to stop Tang Jun, but it was not easy enough to stall Tang Jun and quickly eat a complete brigade of the Japanese army.
In the battle of Guadalcanal, the Japanese army covered the retreat of the whole army, and only one brigade of Yano Guell was used, and the retreat was successful. Shang Jun, even if its fighting capacity is very strong, does not have the strength, firepower and maneuverability of Vandegrift on Guadalcanal. The Japanese army used a brigade to contain Tang Jun, and this confidence is not excessive. Once the Japanese army has not been fully engaged in frontal combat, Tang Jun and the Japanese army are biting each other, and the Japanese army can easily mobilize enough troops to fight Tang Jun on the plain by virtue of its mobility.
The timing of Tang Jun's attack is quite good. Later, Taierzhuang fell, and Tang became Liao Yaoxiang in the Battle of Jinzhou. Earlier, the Japanese army still had the strength to make a comeback, so it could only fight, not fight. The Tang Legion attacked, and it was at the moment when the Japanese army punched out and completely straightened its arms that it went into battle. The so-called fatal blow played a vital role in the victory of Taierzhuang.
Although my opinion only represents the individual, the winner is not strange. I don't think it should be too harsh for Tang to join Taierzhuang reinforcements at his own pace.
The second problem is to rescue tengxian.
Does Don have the strength to save tengxian? He has my opinion. He is not far from tengxian. At one time, the defenders could even hear Tang Jun's gunfire, but he went further and further, and was dubbed the "swimming whistle". Seeing Zhang Zizhong's rescue of Pang Bingxun, Tang obviously didn't try his best.
This will involve don, if the result of all-out rescue.
Judging from the momentum of the Japanese army, the confrontation between Tang Department and Iwatani Division may not win, but it should be possible to rescue Wang from danger. Only in this way, the first soup department will fight a tough battle and the loss will not be small; Second, Tangbu may get stuck in tengxian, changing from a mobile corps to a defensive corps.
From the military map, Tang's choice is also beneficial to the whole war. Li Zongren and his men in the third war zone can be regarded as a hodgepodge. Although there are many troops, there are not many that can be used as the main force of mobility. After Han Fuju's death, Sun's army was ordered to counterattack Lunan. The battle of Dawenkou showed that the offensive ability was insufficient, and Han Gang died. The loyalty of this unit is still a problem. Although Deng Xihou and Sun Zhen's Sichuan Army were brave, they were poorly equipped. Sun Lianzhong is good at defense and is the pillar of the northern line. Zhang Zizhong is good at attacking, but dealing with Sakaguchi in the downtown; Fan Yi is good at fighting without Li Changguan; Yunnan army is still on the road; Shen Honglie and Liu Zhendong are short of miscellaneous troops, so they can only be guerrillas.
Only the powerful and well-equipped Tang department is most suitable as a campaign reserve for attacking the Japanese army. If Tombu is stuck in tengxian, it is really difficult to find troops capable of mobile operations in Li Zongren.
Therefore, it is a good choice for Tang to save strength for the future triumph of Taierzhuang.
However, the reason is the reason. We can't help but see that Tang, who is reckless and desperate, is gradually disappearing. Tang began to be more willing to fight "clever battles", and his arrogant side began to be exposed. Tengxian and Taierzhuang fought, and Tang's decision had his reasons, but they all needed to sit back and watch the friendly forces suffer a large number of casualties. In my opinion, this is not a coincidence, but a manifestation of the cold side of Tang thought. It may sometimes be in line with the art of war to sit back and watch the friendly forces perish and wait for the chance to succeed, but it cannot be said that its negative impact is also very serious. Don Bourne worshipped Cao Cao all his life, and Cao Cao's views on massacre and politics were not necessarily implied by him. Then, it is hard to say whether to sacrifice the king or himself, no matter whether Tang considers it from the overall perspective or from the perspective of his own interests. Perhaps he was satisfied with his kind style, but since then, Tongbu has always been at odds with friendly troops on the battlefield because of this style, and it is hard to say where the stakes are.
The annexation of Wang Jinzai's Ministry was another subtle change after the war in Xuzhou in Tang Dynasty.
Wang Jinzai, 128 division commander, belongs to the Tang Legion. Tang took the opportunity to annex the main force of the king's department, while a small number of his troops left the soup department and went to Hubei, forming a semi-independent kingdom. The annexation of Wang Jinzai was the beginning of Tang's expansion of strength, which showed Tang's desire for strength after the middle period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Write a dark line for Tang to become the king of the Central Plains.
With the battle of jujube trees, the performance of Tang and his men is still commendable. Li Zongren laid a pocket array, and Tang, like Taierzhuang, served as a circuitous task, and gained a lot in the battle to intercept the Japanese retreat. Li Zongren recalled that Tang did not listen to the command and attacked too late, which led to the smooth eastward flight of the Japanese main force. He believes that if Tang attacks in time, "the Japanese mechanized troops may never return to the east of Xianghua Highway"!
Li's criticism of Tang seems a little excessive, because there were powerful mobile forces outside the pockets of the Japanese at that time. If it's Tang, who is tightly bandaged, and is caught between Scylla and Charybdis, I'm afraid it's hard to say who will win. Of course, Tang is not without hope.
As you can see, Tang has avoided the risky battle at this moment, relying on his own central group and ignoring Li Zongren's command. It was not until most of the main Japanese troops retreated from the east that he came out to pick up the bargain. The Japanese army is surrounded by a small number of troops, and he is not in danger of being attacked between Scylla and Charybdis. Although the result is not big, the risk is much smaller.
Of course, we won the battle, but the battle became more and more "clever" in Tang Dynasty. If Tang still had the courage to serve the country with his own body when the Anti-Japanese War was in full swing, then his courage gradually declined as time went on. This is not only a problem of Tang, but also a social problem at that time.
Tang's black and white, so slowly changing.
