Cabbage is one of the most important vegetables for westerners from the Mediterranean region of Europe, belonging to Cruciferae. There are about 4 varieties of cabbage, which can be divided into four types according to the shape of leaf bulbs: pointed type, round head type, flat head type and hybrid type. Let's take a look!
pointy cabbage
pointy cabbage has a sharp tip at the top of the leaf bulb, which is similar to a heart shape. Most of them are early-maturing and early-middle-maturing varieties, and it takes 5-7 days from planting to the maturity of the leaf bulb. The representative varieties are cabbage, bovine heart blue and so on.
round-headed cabbage
round-headed cabbage has spherical leaves, which are mostly early-maturing and early-middle-maturing varieties. It takes 5-7 days from planting to harvesting, with few outer leaves and tight leaves. The representative varieties are Jinzaosheng, Beijing Zaoshu, Shanxi No.1, Jinmu 84 and so on.
Flat-headed cabbage
Flat-headed cabbage has oblate leaves, most of which are medium-limited or late-maturing varieties, and it takes 7-1 days from planting to harvesting. The representative varieties are crew cut with black leaves, Huangmiao and Zhangjiakou fennel.
hybrid cabbage
after 195s, Japanese and some countries in Europe and America widely used cabbage hybrids. Since 197s, Chinese cabbage heterosis breeding has developed rapidly, and many suburban hybrids have occupied 4%-9% of the total cabbage cultivation area. Excellent hybrid varieties include Jingfeng No.1, Xia Guang, Baochun, Qingfeng, Yuefeng, Zhonggan No.11 and so on.
