Red Heart Honey Pomelo is selected by the Fruit Tree Research Institute of Fujian Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences from the bud-variant strains in the Jin Sheng Gwenxi Honey Pomelo Garden in Pinghe County. It is characterized by early maturity, light purplish-red flesh, good yield and high quality.

Fruit shape is inverted ovoid, skin color is yellowish-green, shoulder is rounded and pointed, oblique side; top of the fruit is wide and flat, slightly concave, ring-shaped circular mark is not obvious and complete; fruit surface is coarse to the touch because of the protruding oil cells; skin is thin, average thickness is 0.7㎝～0.9㎝. The number of capsule petals is 13~17, and there is the phenomenon of cleavage, and the rate of cleavage is 54%, and the capsule skin is pink; the juice cell is red, and the juice is rich in sweet and sour flavor, and the quality is top grade.
