Plant-like felwort
Perennial erect herb, 30 ~ 60 cm high. Sometimes all the coarse hairs are covered with white. The stem is bifurcated, and the branches are few, hard and rough. Most of the single leaves are basal, spoon-shaped or oblong, oblanceolate, 5 ~15cm long and 2 ~ 4.5cm wide, with a tapering base, a blunt or short tip at the apex and a slightly obtuse serration at the edge: the stem leaves are few and thin, the petiole is 5 ~15mm long, and the base is enlarged to hold the stem, or it is nearly sessile. The head has about 4 small flowers, which are born at the top of the branch; There are usually 3 leaflike bracts, the bracts are oval or oblong, and the length is1~1.5 cm; There are many heads in each bouquet, dense; The total bract is 8 ~10 mm long; Receptacle glabrous; The florets are all tubular, bisexual, lavender, 7 ~ 9 mm long, 4-lobed at the apex, one side cracked, and the lobes slightly spread; Stamens 4 ~ 5, slightly protruding outside the tube; Ovary inferior, 1 room. Chemical constituents of Herba Hedyotidis Diffusae contain episomal terpineol, hops fatty alcohol, stigmasterol, behenyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol and potassium chloride.
