The picture of the papermaking process is as follows:
The first step of papermaking has five steps as follows:
1. Cut bamboo and float on the pond: the craftsman of papermaking After cutting bamboo from the mountains, soak the bamboo in the pond for 100 days. When taking it out, beat it hard to remove the green shell and bark, in order to soften the bamboo.
2. Boiling over high heat: Mix the softened bamboo material with lime water and soak it in a wooden barrel for 8 days. In this way, impurities such as lignin, gum, and resin in the raw material are removed. Then take out the steamed raw materials, rinse them in a clear water pond, and then put them into a pot soaked in lime water for cooking. This process is repeated for more than ten days. After repeated cooking and rinsing, the bamboo fibers are gradually decomposed.
3. Put the soup into the curtain: take out the boiled raw materials and put them in a stone mortar and pound them into a mud shape. Mix the mashed raw materials with an appropriate amount of water to form a suspension of paper fibers, and then pour it in Inside the paper slot. Then use a thin bamboo curtain to filter out the pulp, and the paper fibers remain on the bamboo curtain to form a Jing paper film.
4. Cover the curtain with paper: Place the bamboo curtain that has been scooped out of the paper pulp upside down on the board, then remove the bamboo curtain, and this layer of Jing paper film will fall on the board. Slowly stack up layers of paper, and then squeeze them with heavy objects to drain out the moisture in the paper. The paper film slowly takes shape under the pressure of heavy objects, turning into square pieces of paper. In this way, paper is basically formed.
5. Fire drying: The tunnel for drying the paper is a brick wall made of two mud bricks. When baking the paper, first light a fire in the tunnel, and then use light copper tweezers to remove the paper. Pieces of wet paper are spread on the wall. The heat radiated from the gaps slowly dries the paper. When it is dry, it is lifted up and becomes a usable piece of paper.
