Tetrandrine is mainly distributed in humid and semi-humid areas of China, as well as the southeast and east of Asia. In China, Stephania tetrandra mainly grows in Liaoning, Dalian, Lushunkou, Changhai and other places. The climatic conditions in these places are suitable for the growth of Stephania tetrandra.
In addition, Stephania tetrandra is regarded as a monophyletic plant in northeast China, but its natural population area has decreased sharply due to the destruction of the growing environment and excessive logging, and it has been listed as a third-class key protected plant.
