One day, in Chang'an, he was so hungry that he could only bow his head and beg for food from a bakery. Seeing his pity, the shopkeeper gave him two pieces of baklava left over from a few days ago. The baklava that had been left for a few days was so dry and hard that it simply wouldn't be bitten at all. At that moment, he smelled the smell of meat. It turned out that there was a butcher store not far away that made mutton. Zhao Kuangyin asked the shopkeeper for a bowl of mutton soup, broke the hardened burrito into small pieces and soaked them in the soup. Unexpectedly, the bowl of baklava inhaled the aroma of the broth, making the baklava become fluffy, and a bowl of soup soaked in bread made Zhao Kuangyin feel feverish, hungry and refreshed.

Seeing the emperor's arrival, the shopkeeper was shocked and scared. The bakery on the street was closed, so the shopkeeper had to ask his wife to bake some cakes. Fearing that the emperor would think it was a dead noodle cake, he broke the cake into pieces, poured the mutton broth and cooked it, then put a large piece of beef, added spinach and vermicelli to the broth, sprinkled it with green onions, and finally poured a few drops of bright red chili oil on it. Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica calls lamb a warm tonic that replenishes qi and blood, and Han's Medical Doctrine says beef has the same effect as astragalus. And spices with medicinal value such as cloves, cinnamon, grass nuts and fennel in the broth can also have a warming effect.
