Wo Wotou is very common in our lives, but in "Kangxi Dynasty", Wo Wotou is as important as Mount Tai.
Because if Li Guangdi hadn’t given Mingzhu a wowotou, the history of the Qing Dynasty might have been rewritten.
In 1696 AD, the thirty-fifth year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign, Emperor Kangxi made his second expedition to Junggar. Before leaving, he deliberately took the condemned prisoner Li Guang with him. His intention was very obvious. He was worried that Li Guangdi's political opponent Suo'etu would take advantage of Li Guangdi's campaign to attack Li Guangdi.
Six years later, Kangxi made his third expedition to Junggar, and followed the same pattern, taking a death row prisoner with him, but this time the death row prisoner turned into another person, that is Mingzhu.
Although the prisoners are not the same person, the purpose is the same, both to prevent Suo'etu from reaching out to Mingzhu when Kangxi is not in the capital.
Speaking of this, everyone will have a question in their mind:
Everyone knows that the power of the Chinese emperor is boundless. Killing a minister is as easy as killing an ant. Since Kangxi was so wary of Suo'etu, why didn't he just eliminate him?
But if you knew Suo'etu's identity, you wouldn't ask this question.
Suo'etu's daughter Hesheli was the wife of Emperor Kangxi, and Suo'etu was a veritable father-in-law. Although according to historical records, Hesheli is the niece of Suo'etu, Suo'etu is also the father-in-law of the country anyway, and his father Sony's identity is also unusual. He was the "chief minister" in the early years of the Kangxi Dynasty. , Suo'etu also made great contributions when Emperor Kangxi eradicated Obai and put down the rebellion of the Three Feudatories, and made great contributions by charging into battle.
Because of his outstanding achievements, Suo'etu has long held important positions such as minister of state affairs and minister of bodyguards. He is ranked first among the cabinet ministers. He has many disciples and former officials and many party members, and he has become full-fledged.
Furthermore, Kangxi had already made Yinreng, the legitimate son of Queen Hesheli, the prince, and he was afraid of rats. Therefore, although minister Gao Shiqi impeached Suo'etu in the 39th year of Kangxi's reign and listed his various crimes, Kangxi still treated him coldly and could not make up his mind to eradicate Suo'etu.
Kangxi did not move Suo'etu for the time being, but he would not allow it to continue to grow and expand indefinitely. Instead, he deliberately supported Mingzhu to curb Suo'etu. This was a check and balance technique used by rulers. Mingzhu, Nalan Mingzhu, was also Kangxi's right-hand man. He successively held important positions such as the General Manager of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, the Minister of the Ministry of War, and the Crown Prince. He repeatedly made extraordinary achievements in pacifying the Three Feuds and regaining Taiwan. But the jewels of history do have their share of faults.
However, when Li Guangdi impeached Mingzhu, Kangxi did not beat him to death with a stick, but kept someone under the knife to spare Mingzhu. Its intention is very obvious, that is, the pearl is still useful to me.
But Mingzhu herself couldn't figure out Kangxi's attitude and didn't know what her fate would be.
Later on the way to conquer Galdan, the Qing army's grain and grass camp was attacked. The grain and grass were burned. The supply of military grain was tight. The officers and soldiers were not allowed to tighten their belts. Emperor Kangxi himself also began to cut back on meals. But Mingzhu enjoyed special treatment and did not go hungry, and it was Li Guangdi who personally handed the wowotou to Mingzhu.
In Mingzhu's view, this is not just a wolf-bread, but a clear signal, a signal that the king still trusts him, or that he is still useful to the emperor.
So he must seize this rare opportunity to further gain Kangxi's trust and give it a go to overthrow his political opponents.
With his keen political sense, he knew that there was something fishy about the attack on the grain and grass camp, and that it was part of Soetu's plan to usurp power.
But Mingzhu's identity is a prisoner. If she wants to see Kangxi as powerful as the emperor, she can only convey her intentions through Li Guangdi.
So when Mingzhu took over the wowotou, she decisively told Li Guangdi: "Please tell the emperor that there is a traitor in the court."
But Li Guangdi did not take any active measures after hearing this. Instead of reacting, he acted very calmly. Because many years of experience in officialdom have taught me that in officialdom fights are life-and-death, and you cannot be careless; everyone must hide their true intentions deeply to ensure that they remain invincible in the power struggle.
So Li Guangdi pretended to be very confused and said to Mingzhu, "Mr. Ming, do you want to frame Master Suo?"
Mingzhu has no way out at this moment, and there is no time left for him. If there are too many, I can only say to Li Guang directly, "Master Li, the current burning of grain and grass is a big conspiracy, which means that Suo'etu will have a showdown. If I fall, you are not far away from your fall, right?"
After hearing this, Li Guangdi woke up from a dream and hurriedly transported grain and grass from other channels and transported them directly to the front line. This solved the Qing army's urgent need, ensured the victory of the expedition to Junggar, and shattered Suo'etu's conspiracy.
Mingzhu's judgment was correct. The burning of grain and grass was Suo'etu's conspiracy. He planned to take advantage of the opportunity of Kangxi's expedition and Gal Yinreng's supervision of the country to appoint Yang Qilong, the fake third prince of Zhu, to burn Kangxi's grain and grass. Put Kangxi to death so that he could help Yinreng ascend to the throne.
Suo'etu has been ambitious for a long time. As early as more than ten years ago, Suo'etu took in Yang Qilong's daughter Dandan and changed her name to Hongyu, which won the favor of Prince Yinreng. And she is pregnant with "dragon seed".
In this way, Yang Qilong became even more determined to work for Suo'etu, because after Yinreng ascended the throne, he would become the head of the country in one step, with power over the government and the public.
At that time, except for the old Xiaozhuang, all the people in the imperial court were their own people. Suo'etu did not have a strong opponent. Kangxi had no food and grass and was defeated by Junggar. Mingzhu, Yinti, and Li Guangdi were also defeated. If you die without a burial place, Suo'etu will get your wish.
But God’s calculations are not as good as those of humans, and Suo’etu racked his brains, but it was still in vain. He never dreamed that the death row prisoner beside Kangxi would see through his ambitions, and all his efforts would be in vain. .
Historical data records that Suo'etu was executed by Kangxi in the forty-second year, that is, 1703. His two sons were also executed. Other descendants were dismissed, and his associates were either killed or dismissed. exile.
Although Mingzhu turned around, she was no longer reused after her official reinstatement and became depressed. She died of illness in 1708, the forty-seventh year of Kangxi's reign.
The experiences of Mingzhu and Suo'etu tell us that in ancient times, official circles were dangerous, and accompanying a king was like accompanying a tiger. Without a roly-poly, one would fall out of favor if one were not careful, and would even be killed.
