White tea, a slightly fermented tea, is a traditional tea created by Chinese tea farmers. It refers to a kind of tea that is processed after picking, without greening or kneading, but only after drying in the sun or fire.
The tea is named after its buds, which are full of white hairs, like silver and snow. The main producing areas are Fuding, Zhenghe, Jiaocheng Tianshan, Songxi, Jianyang, and Jinggu in Yunnan Province.
White tea, due to the different standards of tea tree varieties and raw materials (fresh leaves) picking, the main varieties are divided into: the first day of buds, Tianshan White, White Hair Silver Needle, White Peony, Shou Mei.
