1, sowing (March 20, light rain)
There has been a lot of spring rain these days, so I think it's time to sow. I took out the seeds of impatiens, selected seven plump seeds and planted them in a flowerpot. Since I planted the seeds of Impatiens, I have been anxiously waiting for them to grow every day.
2, germination (April 7, Yin)
Today is a happy day, I finally saw my impatiens grow out of the soil, and there are three in one. Different sizes, the big stem is 2 cm long, the stem is very thin, there are two cotyledons, round, and the leaves and edges are mostly bare. Starting today, I'm going to record their growth and changes once a week.
3. Growth (April 14, sunny)
There are still only three impatiens, and the other seeds may be dead. I chose a tree and measured it with a ruler. The stem is 4 cm high and about 1 mm thick. Two real leaves grow at the top of the stem, and the edges of the leaves are serrated.
4. Growing (April 2 1 day, sunny)
Impatiens have grown up a lot. There are four big real leaves on the plant, and two small leaves are still growing. I chose the same tree and measured its stem with a ruler, which was 7 cm high and 2 mm thick.
5. Growing up (April 28, rain)
The stems and leaves of impatiens grow rapidly, especially the middle one, which grows fastest and strongest. There are 7 leaves, the stem height is14cm, and the stem thickness is about 3mm.
6, the law of the jungle (May 5, sunny)
Two trees are short, and some leaves are yellow, which makes them feel unhealthy. The middle one is the tallest and healthiest, with 10 leaves, a stem height of 17 cm and a stem diameter of about 4 mm. Moreover, I found that the growth of leaves is very regular, and two pieces of leaves cross up and down, and each leaf basically does not overlap up and down.
7, the law of the jungle (May 12, sunny)
It's still the tallest and strongest tree in the middle with many leaves, so I won't record the number of its leaves from today. The stem is 26 cm high and about 7 mm thick, and branches are beginning to grow, while the other two plants have not been divided yet. They all began to grow buds, which grew at the intersection of leaves and stems. The buds were thick at one end and sharp and thin at the other. It seems that my impatiens will bloom in a few days.
8. Reverse flowering (May 19-26, cloudy to light rain)
There is a lot of rain during this time, and I feel that they are growing well. But the first tree on the right grew fastest this week, as tall as the middle one, with a height of 45 cm and a stem diameter of 1 1 mm, and all of them grew a long branch, but the number was small. Bloom has seven or eight flowers. The first tree on the left is thin, probably because it grows on the edge of the flowerpot, which affects the growth of roots.
9, hit hard (June 9- 16, sunny)
The height of the plant is 50 cm, and the thickness of the stem is basically unchanged. The top is still blooming, and the fruit is much bigger. The fruit is spindle-shaped with white fuzz on the surface. There are many branches on the stem of the middle plant, only one branch on the stem of the right plant and none on the stem of the left plant.
But the strongest plant in the middle is dying. The stem above the root turns black and cracks a big crack. The whole plant is tilted. I think it is damaged by pests. The plant is full of fruits, but it is not mature yet. What a pity. The other two plants are normal, except that there was a heavy rain yesterday, and the thin stems of the plants were also tilted. Now only one impatiens stands upright.
10, the last survivor (June 18-25, Yin)
Mom pulled out the other two sick ones when I was not at home, because she thought these two impatiens were going to die, so she pulled them out. The last impatiens is 55 cm high and its stem is about 1 1 mm. There are no flowers on the trunk, only one branch has grown on the whole stem, and several white flowers are still blooming on the branch. The fruit is much bigger, and many leaves seem to have been eaten by insects.
Because the leaves withered a lot, only some green leaves grew at the top. The whole plant no longer blooms, and the stems are a little yellow. It seems that the life of this plant is coming to an end and the fruit is about to mature.
1 1, mature (July 2-7)
Today ushered in the harvest day, I found that some pods cracked, and all the seeds in them fell to the ground. If I don't collect the seeds, I will lose them all. Mature pods are a little yellow. As long as you touch them gently, the seeds inside will be ejected, and the peel will split into five twisted petals. There are more than a dozen seeds in each fruit. The seeds are black and peach-shaped. I want to continue sowing the seeds of these impatiens next year.
Growth process of impatiens balsamina
1, put the seeds on the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil. After about three or four days, the seeds began to germinate.
2. After planting for about a week, the seedlings grow the first pair of true leaves.
3. Impatiens were in the growth period for one month, and they quickly grew luxuriant leaves, and began to bear buds in about 45 days.
4. Impatiens have several colors, the common ones are red, pink, purple and white. These trees planted by my children are purple flowers.
5. The flowering period of Impatiens lasts about a month, and the fruit after the flower withers is like a small lantern with a furry surface.
6. When the color of Impatiens balsamina fruit changes from green to yellow-green transparent, it means that the fruit is ripe and can be picked. Be careful when picking. When you touch it, the small round black seeds will pop up, which is very consistent with its flower language "Don't touch me".
Impatiens takes about four months from seed germination to flowering and fruiting.
