Ingredients (sweet): sugar
Ingredients (savory): squash, shrimp, meat floss can be added
Methods:
To increase the stickiness of the rice, I used half of rice and half of glutinous rice. If you use all rice or glutinous rice should also work. (From what I remember, all the sticky rice balls sold on the streets are made of rice.) Make the rice first.
Cut a piece of plastic wrap and use kitchen paper or a small brush to grease the wrap to prevent sticking. According to the amount of rice evenly spread on the plastic wrap, if you use your hands, you can wet your hands, the rice will not be too sticky hands. If you have a bamboo curtain for sushi, put it under the plastic wrap to make it easier to wrap later. (This is our novice practice, street stalls of skilled workers seem to use a piece of wet cloth can be wrapped.)
Put the doughnuts in the middle of the spread rice, like to eat sweet flavor, add some sugar.
I like both flavors, so I'll make a savory one. Traditionally, you can just wrap a doughnut around it. The newer way (like the ones sold at Yonghe Soymilk), you can add chopped mustard greens, shrimp and meat floss to taste, with or without the doughnuts.
Finally, wrap the rice ball and pinch it tightly. You can also leave the plastic wrap on when you eat, so it's easy to pinch while you eat and not stick to your hands. (If you have a big appetite, you can add more rice and more doughnuts to make the sticky rice ball round.)
