Hemorrhage and hematoma are the most common complications of facelift surgery, mostly occurring within 24 hours after surgery, often manifested as increased pain, swelling and bruising ecchymosis, and should be promptly asked to the doctor to deal with.
2 Skin necrosis
After facelift surgery, large areas of total skin necrosis are rare, but small areas of superficial skin necrosis can occur, and may require two treatments, one initial and one second.
3 Nerve damage
Postoperative nerve damage can be categorized into sensory and motor nerve damage.
Sensory nerve damage can lead to numbness and dullness of the scalp and facial skin, and this sensory abnormality usually resolves about 3 months after surgery.
Motor nerve injury has a low incidence and can be compensated for, or it can be permanent, leading to facial paralysis in the corresponding area, which is a serious complication.
4 Infection
When doing a facelift, if the surgical process instruments are not thoroughly sterilized, or if the wound is not properly cared for after the surgery, it may cause infection and inflammation.
