Phonetic name Honɡ Kui
Also known as Wild Lycium barbarum (Inner Mongolia Chinese Herbal Medicine), Wild Eggplant, Wild chili pepper and Yaorendou (Medicinal Plants in Desert Area of China).
The source is the whole grass or fruit of Solanaceae plant Solanum nigrum. Cut the whole grass in summer and autumn, wash and cut into sections.
Perennial herb in original form, 50 cm high. The stems are erect, ribbed, multi-branched and green. Leaves alternate, ovate, irregularly pinnately divided, lobes broadly linear or lanceolate, apex tapering, base tapering, extending to petiole. Cymes, terminal or lateral, with purple flowers. Berries are small, ovoid or spherical, within 1 cm, and red when ripe.
Habitat distribution is born on roadsides, watersides, fields, ditches and canals. Distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu and other places.
Bitter in nature, cold in nature and slightly toxic.
Functions are mainly used for clearing away heat and toxic materials. Treat sore throat, blurred eyes and red eyes, itchy skin.
Attached prescription
1 for sore throat: two or two pieces of scarlet sunflower, decocted in water for three times.
2 treatment of blurred vision: red sunflower fruit for two dollars, decocted in water.
