Starbucks has nearly 21,300 stores worldwide in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific. in March 2012, two Starbucks desserts in the U.S. were revealed to have used cochineal as a coloring agent, which experts said could cause allergies in asthmatics. in April 2012, Starbucks said it was discontinuing the use of the coloring agent.
