What is sodium cyclamate?
Aminosulfonic acid reacts with cyclohexylamine and sodium hydroxide to produce sodium cyclohexylsulfamate. Its chemical name is sodium cyclamate, which is one of the commonly used additives in food production at present.

Sodium cyclamate is a commonly used sweetener, and its sweetness is 30 ~ 40 times that of sucrose. If people often eat drinks or other things with excessive sodium cyclamate content, it will cause serious damage to their liver and nervous system, especially to the elderly, pregnant women and children.

Extended data:

Chemical properties of sodium cyclamate;

Sodium cyclamate, white needle, flake crystal or crystalline powder. Tasteless. Sweet, the sweetness of its dilute solution is about 30 times that of sucrose. It is a non-nutritive sweetener. 10% aqueous solution is neutral and stable to heat, light and air. It tastes slightly bitter after heating. The decomposition temperature is about 280℃, and caramelization does not occur.

Slightly decomposed in acidic environment and stable in alkaline environment. Soluble in water and propylene glycol, almost insoluble in ethanol, ether, benzene and chloroform. When its concentration is more than 0.4%, it is bitter, and when it is dissolved in water with high nitrite and sulfite content, it produces an oil or rubber-like smell. It does not absorb moisture and does not support the growth of mold or other bacteria.
