Rose essence is extracted from rose by steam distillation, activated carbon adsorption and organic solvent soaking. Rose essence is several times higher than gold in the international market. Citronellol, geraniol, nerol, eugenol and linalool were separated from the essence. Foreign data show that more than 270 components can be analyzed from rose essence. Compared with foreign products, the rose essence in China has basically the same composition, but the individual content is different. It mainly contains geraniol, syringol and phenylethanol, among which geraniol has a high content.
