Potatoes were first introduced to China during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573 to 1619).
In the second volume of "Chang'an Hakka" written by Jiang Yikui during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, "Huangdu Miscellaneous Notes", it is recorded that potatoes grown in Beijing are called potatoes.
The Product Department of Jifu Tongzhi compiled in the 21st year of Kangxi (1682) is the earliest chronicle recording potatoes in my country. In the mid-18th century, potatoes were widely planted in the Beijing-Tianjin area.
