Synonym Vinegar Pomegranate (海集验方).

Originally from the sour-flavored fruit of the pomegranate plant Punica granatum.

Chemical constituents of the seed oil contains garnet acid (i.e. raric acid), also contains estrone and estradiol, β-sitosterol, mannitol and so on.

Pharmacological effect of pomegranate seed oil injected into adult female mice or juvenile female mice with ovaries removed, with estrogen-like effect.

The flavor is sour and warm.
